– free, informal and welcoming. A 35/40-minute themed programme of music and poetry, secular and sacred, on occasional Wednesdays
Alan and Rebeca Taverner are launching a new monthly venture called Music for a While which will offer a calm oasis of ‘down time’ after office hours. People can come and go as they please, relax, let the stresses of the day dissolve and enjoy a moment of peace leading into their evening. It will be a sequence of informal, live professional performances from Rebecca and Alan with Gilly McDougall as a speaker and poetry reader.
Please watch this space where dates/times and lists of the music and poems to be included will be published. Music For A While will launch in October. The first one will include pieces by Purcell, Satie, Poulenc, Brahms, J S Bach, and ‘anon’.
