On Thursday 23rd October 2025 we celebrated our 10th birthday
To celebrate ten years of good company Maya MacAdam delighted us with her fantastic variety of songs played on her beautiful pedal harp. Maya’s obvious enjoyment and connection to the music played made the harp and musician seem as one.
Romy Wymer, also of the Willow Trio finished the performance with her own composition The Oystercatcher. What a privilege it was to hear two very talented harpist. This relaxed and informal performance was the perfect way to celebrate our ten years of knitting and chatting.
As part of the knitting group Maya is known for her confident knitting, great baking, love of cats and of course the harp!! Along with her mother Fiona, they are our first Mother and Daughter duo. Maya is an award-winning harpist, violinist, and singer-songwriter. Her work draws on both classical music along with traditional Scottish culture.
Her clàrsach trio ‘The Willow Trio’ will be releasing their second album ‘The Bestiary’ in February 2026, with a new single being released October 2025. Maya is thankful to St Bride’s Church for their support in providing practice and recording space during her various projects, but most recently during her writing and recording of her Master’s Songwriting project album.
